On 25 April 2022, the Association held its AGM and Annual Dinner. Once again, we were very fortunate to hold the event at AELTC. Around 65 attendees joined us for the evening and many thanks to all that attended.
This year our guest speaker was Scott Lloyd, the current CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association. Scott gave a very informative talk about his time at the helm of the LTA along with tackling challenging questions around the sport, given the political climate around the world. A truly fascinating and interesting evening on how the LTA looks to help all players around the country with the various initiatives that are in operation. Along with the growth in padel tennis at clubs around the country.
Once again the food and service was excellent – our thanks to the AELTC catering staff and the traditional steak and kidney pudding was enjoyed by all.
The Geoff Brown award was presented to Jonathan Cooper, after stepping down as Hon. Secretary. Ashley Tatum as Chairman, also gave thanks to Edward Cooper, after 11 seasons as Hon. Fixtures Secretary – a sterling job organising hundreds of matches!
Now the Association looks forward to a ‘normal’ season of tennis and the various matches – if you are interested in playing any matches, please do contact the match manager.
